GD NORTHERN STAR operates the Wassa mine located in south-western Ghana, where it commenced surface production in 2005 and achieved commercial production at Wassa Underground in 2017. The company transitioned to an underground-focused operation in early 2018 and is exploring opportunities to increase mining rates to optimize processing plant capacity.
